Multiple news outlets reported that the U.S. wanted those negotiators protected to preserve diplomacy. •Trump and JD Vance have been involved in negotiations with Iranian officials. •Trump has publicly favored negotiations at various points and has reportedly urged restraint on some Israeli actions to keep diplomacy alive. Claims that are disputed or unsupported •The claim that Vance leaked Israeli military plans to Erdoğan is a very serious allegation.
