@AnneofKingston @DocMCohen Healthcare is tough. It's expensive an if you don't need it, it is easy to say no to more money. But hospice is vital! I 100 percent agree with you there! We can always do better. But I am very proud of our hospital care and hospice care in my community!!

@AnneofKingston @DocMCohen The only other thing I can comment is that LTC is not predatory. It is a vital component to our health care system. Are there things that could be improved. Most definitely. But I agree end of life care is vital. Unfortunately the dead don't vote! So it falls to the community!

@AnneofKingston @DocMCohen Ruth I will say it takes someone to advocate and then push to the government to develop such a team and then need a leader and then ask for money. It should not be so difficult but it is. We have had such advocates here and the system works well.

@AnneofKingston @DocMCohen Part 3 qnd our local hospice is also adept at after death and grieving families care which our hospital does not have resources to do. We are fortunate there is a symbiotic relationship between the palliative care ward at the hospital and our local hospice. Which works well.

@AnneofKingston @DocMCohen Part 2. This leads to the challenge of how best to use the money in the community whole being fiscally responsible to donors. Our hospital has a palliative care ward which takes care of symptom management and can also do end of life while our hospice can care for end of life.
