It's amazing that these decrepit neocon imbeciles have gotten every major issue wrong for 40 years and just absolutely insist on keeping their streak of unbroken wrongness alive at all costs. Yes, 27 million people immigrated here between 1880 and 1924. The difference is that they came here legally, there was no welfare state for them to leach off of, they were not flooding in from dysfunctional lawless third world hellholes, and they actually desired to assimilate into American culture. Oh and we had 250 million fewer people living in the country at the time. So in other words, it was nothing like our current situation. At all. Not remotely.
Remember: the Somalian who was born to illegal immigrant parents 23 years ago has a "birthright" to be in this country. But you are an invader who has no right to be here, even though your family has been in this country for 200 years. This is what the Left actually believes.
I agree with most everything here from Walsh. I would only add that in calling around a number of contacts today, it was clear there was growing urgency and concern in DC, even among the most stridently anti-war voices, that Iran was beginning to work on dirty bombs while making urgent appeals to China for hypersonics, which can sink US carriers in the region (which carry 5,000 servicemen). If true, it’s easy to see why the President would change his calculus on striking the regime and doing so quickly.
So both things can be true at once: Iran could be weaker than ever; the strikes on Fordow etc. could have been successful; and yet, the Iranian regime, increasingly desperate, could have been more dangerous than ever.
So why not pitch the strikes from that angle? If those reports turn out to be false or misleading in any way, then the PR fallout would be disastrous, just as it was with the WMDs catastrophe in Iraq.
I don’t think the strikes have yet been sold to the American people, and that should change. The president and VP should communicate clearly, as soon as they can, what constitutes a win and why we needed to go in now.
Hear me out
Oregon Washington UCLA and USC since they have been struggling with these road trips should form a new conference with some of those ACC teams that have struggling as well with travel (Stanford and Cal) that way they can limit travel and improve their performance
nothing gets an american leftist more excited than the opportunity to tell a foreigner who lost everything and everyone they ever loved to a brutal socialist dictator that brutal socialist dictatorship is a good thing, actually
I have been monitoring the Venezuela issue all day long, and there are so many questions yet to be answered (thanks to great Pentagon OPSEC), but the strategic reason for bringing down Maduro has become abundantly clear.
While we ostensibly captured Maduro based on legitimate, outstanding US drug charges from 2020, the real reason for the military operations early this morning is that neutralizing Maduro's Venezuela had become a strategic imperative for the USA.
Under Maduro, Venezuela had become the Latin American crossroads for all of the USA's principal enemies. Maduro was nurturing relationships with Russia, Hezbollah and Iran. Worst of all, Venezuela was eagerly becoming a part of Red China's Belt & Road initiative.
As America's enemies were lining up Venezuela as their base of operations in the Western Hemisphere to cause mischief and destruction for the USA, Maduro was at the same time making Venezuela a crossroads, safe haven and enabler for all manner of narcoterrorist operations, ranging from Colombia's FARC to Mexico's Sinaloa cartel.
On top of all that, Venezuela had become a key player in the illegal alien invasion of the USA, shipping its very worst to the USA in a deliberate and comprehensive destabilizing operation that might have worked had Donald Trump not won in 2024.
Next in importance: oil. The global and regional ambitions of both China and Russia are in large part dependent on the politics of petroleum, and the USA just deprived both of the cudgel afforded by friendly Venezuelan oil. Trump opponents say "It's about oil" as if that was a bad thing. Yeah, it's about oil.
Finally, all of this was in keeping with the most essential and fundamental foreign policy mandate of the USA almost since the nation's inception: the Monroe Doctrine. Operations like what Maduro was running simply cannot be allowed in the Western Hemisphere. Trump was right for falling back on this most basic of doctrines that protects the USA's sovereignty.
So was Maduro seized because of some five year-old drug charges? Yes. Legally--yes. However, like so many strategic issues in the world today, an action needed to be backed by the fine points of law, and it was. But the reality is that the Maduro takedown was a Monroe Doctrine-driven necessity that has greatly enhanced the power and national security of the USA.
Congratulations, Donald Trump, Marco Rubio, Pete Hegseth and the rest of the Trump national security team: you boldly took the steps necessary to defend the USA.
Well done.
I’m not sure who needs to hear this but Jimmy Kimmel got on the air and falsely stated as a fact that Charlie Kirk’s killer was MAGA, smearing an entire movement and Trump in particular with a vile disgusting lie - and at a time when the threat against those on the right is at an all-time high.
This was *after* we knew from the UT gov that the killer had been indoctrinated into LEFT-wing ideology, *after* we’d seen the shooter’s bullet casings reflecting furry/trans memes, calling Charlie a fascist and w/anti-fascist lyrics. It was *after* we had learned the shooter was living with his trans-furry boyfriend and believed Charlie Kirk was “full of hate.” *After* we learned that the shooter was not registered GOP, but “unaffiliated.” *After* we saw him pull the trigger just as Charlie discussed trans killers. There was zero - ZERO - evidence the shooter was MAGA, had ever been MAGA, or was influenced by MAGA in any way.
This was an intentional lie to GIN UP HATRED toward the very group of ppl most suffering in the wake of our devastating loss of Charlie and Kimmel did it willfully and even gleefully to a cheering complicit audience.
ANY EMPLOYER IN MEDIA WOULD SEE HOW DEPRAVED AND SICK THIS WAS. (In 2021 ABC fired Chris Harrison for saying maybe we should judge a Bachelorette contestant’s attendance (years earlier) at an antebellum party by what was considered offensive at the time. FIRED! His career never recovered!)
The Left doesn’t believe ABC was genuinely horrified by Kimmel (& instead attributes this to the FCC threat). That’s bc even they know ABC has no moral core (we agree with you - it doesn’t).
But what the Left doesn’t seem to understand and needs to hear is that MAGA has f&cking HAD IT. We are ANGRY. We are INCENSED watching the L smear us, our ppl, literally getting some of our friends killed (not to mention our president shot and nearly assassinated again weeks later) and then LYING about it. (“Trump faked his injury! He wasn’t actually shot!” “We have no idea what the motives ever are … if they are bad for our side!”)
I have zero doubt ABC was overwhelmed with absolutely furious calls/comments/emails from truly-FED UP viewers, and knew it had crossed a deadly serious line.
In short, GOOD RIDDANCE.
If we want to stop political violence like what happened to Charlie Kirk, we have to be honest about the people who are celebrating it and the people who are financing it.
My closing remarks on today's episode of the Charlie Kirk Show:
One of our @clayandbuck listeners wrote in about his young son who is devastated by Charlie Kirk’s murder & doesn’t want to leave his room. I did my best to speak to his young men. Lots of young men and women are hurting today. You may not even realize it:
When things are moving very fast and people are losing their minds, it’s important to stay grounded. Turn off your phone, read scripture, spend time with friends, and remember internet fury is not real life. It’s going to be ok.
On his first day in office Joe Biden shut down the Keystone pipeline, putting 11,000 people out of work.
No one in the media or in permanent Washington gave a shit.
President Trump has asked me to do three things:
1. Clean up the corruption in our government health agencies.
2. Return those agencies to their rich tradition of gold-standard, evidence-based science.
3. Make America Healthy Again by ending the chronic disease epidemic.
All jokes aside, this has to be studied… Nick Castellanos going deep every single time there is a tragedy or something newsworthy is legitimately unlike anything I’ve ever seen in sports history. There can’t be any type of logical explanation. No words.
