@barneyxbt Every loan has what's called a "credit risk premium". 3.5% is what the fed gets to borrow at, which is considered "risk free" because they can print money to pay back debt. Every loan from there will have a higher rate based off of the risk it has. Ie. CC rate > mortgage rates

@PeterSchiff @Bayhawks28 Peter you make good point here, the only issue is that gold demand in those areas outside of jewlery are quite small in relativity to the demand for gold. If it was not treated as a store of value and just for industrial purposes,the price would collapse.

@MakeGoldGreat The gold took energy to mine, but its not stored in the gold like its some magic energy stone. The energy came from the labor, materials, equipment, and commodities used in order to create (mine the gold), which in it of itself is not energy, same goes for bitcoin when its mined.

@GuyTalksFinance In short,Because bitcoin is open source, everyone can see the code. In order to make changes to the code, an overwhelming majority of nodes have to approve this. The nodes are in the hands of miners and private parties. This is what makes bitcoin uncontrollable by the government
