Indian Express is no longer a newspaper. It is a propaganda shop that peddles half-truths while adopting the strategy of suppressio veri, suggestio falsi.
It screamed “1.95 lakh blocking orders” to suggest as if the Modi Govt. is terrified of posts and is suppressing dissent.
In furthering this false narrative @IndianExpress deliberately suppressed the crucial date; government’s own numbers: nearly 2.98 lakh URLs flagged between March and July 2026. 82% came from state governments. 51,000 URLs linked to cyber fraud, investment scams and illegal infrastructure.
Meta itself removed 4 million accounts and 36 million posts over child sexual exploitation in a single year.
Those are not “memes” or “broken-road videos.” They are criminal content. One blocking order routinely covers hundreds of such URLs and accounts.
IE’s trick is simple: suppress the fact that the overwhelming bulk of these orders target scams and CSAM, then suggest the entire exercise is political silencing. That is not journalism. It is calculated distortion.

Shocked and horrified by the brazen threats to @ajeetbharti from a public platform. To single him out for his Brahmin identity and then to threaten to skin him alive, is unacceptable. The state must provide him adequate security immediately.
Stay safe, Ajeet. We stand with you.
