Jeśli ktoś ogląda dziś tenis po raz pierwszy, to nie ma opcji, żeby nie zakochał się w tej dyscyplinie, widząc grę Mai Chwalińskiej.
No po prostu nie ma takiej opcji.
#RolandGarros
Maja Chwalinska has changed her life at this year’s Roland Garros.
Her total career earnings before Roland Garros:
$864,030.
What she’s earned at this tournament:
$1,624,000.
Because the players don’t get the money til after the tournament, she was worried she wouldn’t be able to cover her costs for a hotel as she went further and further in the draw.
Polish company OSHEE had to step in and pay for the rest of her hotel fees.
It’s nothing short of heartwarming to see this happening to such a humble person who has overcome her share of struggles.
She overcame a battle with depression and stopped playing tennis entirely for a period to take care of her mental health.
She wasn’t sure if she’d ever come back to this sport.
Absolutely unreal story. 🥹

This move is going to raise pushback from some environmental activists because of its downstream effects, but I support it. When you consider how deadly mosquitoes are, especially across tropical locations like SSA and South America (think malaria, Dengue, Zika West Nile...),
BREAKING: Google is planning to release 32 million mosquitoes across Florida and California.
The company has asked the EPA for permission to proceed, with the public given until June 5 to respond.
The mosquitoes are infected with Wolbachia bacteria, which stops them from reproducing and slowly collapses the wild population from within.
Google's previous Debug Project trial in California's Central Valley nearly eliminated mosquitoes from three test sites entirely. A separate trial in Singapore cut dengue cases by 70% within 12 months.
Google has now released over 1 billion mosquitoes across four continents. This new proposal is the largest deployment in US history.
The trauma that Nigerians continue to endure is profound. Currently, 46 children and their teachers remain in the hands of their kidnappers, with one teacher already dead. The unimaginable plight of these individuals is a source of extreme distress for their families.
This is one thing that baffles me.
The guy who threw his bottle out our bus window didn’t agree he'd done anything wrong. On the contrary, he thought he was performing an altruistic act for the people who pick scraps for recycling.
But this is the part that gets me the most. Calling it a gift to scrap pickers makes you the hero of a story where you're actually the problem. It's a neat psychological trick that lets the behaviour continue, guilt-free. The bottle was in your hand. It was your responsibility.
Sex may not be easiest subject for many Nigerian women, but silence has a cost.
We need to speak up, have tough conversations and get the help we need. 💛

In my morning line up of videos, catching up on happenings, my emotions just went from warmth, jubilation and hope to dread, rage and despair.
I watched a CNN interview with the Artemis Crew and I was really glad (again) to hear about their experiences… and then the Arise TV
video where terrorists were taunting and calling out the Nigerian govt.
The shift in my chest was immediate. I could literally feel the sinking feeling. All that warmth just curdled.
I'm writing this still angry. And sad in a way that doesn't have a clean name.
Hey, heyyyy 🤍
Bar aspirants…
I know the tension is high. I know. Results are just a few days away, and it’s only natural to replay everything in your head, to go back to your question papers, your notes, your textbooks, trying to confirm answers, trying to calculate your fate. I truly understand, because I’ve been there.
But let me gently hold your hands as I say this: breatheeeeeee. Please 🙏🏾 I know it’s easier said than done, but breathe. Slow it down. You’ve done your part.
And take it from someone who walked out of those exams knowing I made multiple mistakes: everything will be alright ♥️
It may not feel like it right now, but it will. One way or another, it will. You’ll look back and realize you carried so much anxiety for something that was already settled.
So instead of torturing yourself with what you cannot change, here are things you can do:
- Pray, if you believe in God. This is such a good time to lean in. Speak peace over your heart. Ask for favour. Ask for the kind of peace that doesn’t even make sense.
- Guard your mind. Resist the urge to keep checking answers or discussing “what did you write?” conversations, they never bring comfort.
- Distract yourself intentionally. Watch something light, read a book, go out, gist with friends. Give your mind something else to hold onto.
- Move your body. Even a short walk can help release the tension sitting in your chest.
- Stay around people who bring calm, not panic. Energy is contagious.
- Remind yourself of truth. You gave it your best. That counts for something.
No matter the outcome, this is only a chapter. And you will be just fine. 🤍
