@dannym51@OUFball218 It's bust all over college football and 5 star that dont pan out.. So one player dont mean all of them will be a bust.. Trust the process
In the aftermath of firing Hugh Freeze and the crazy coaching carousel that’s unfolding this year, I can’t help but feel gratitude towards the stability of Oklahoma right now.
Here are my top five reasons why I believe #Oklahoma is trending in the right direction:
1. Oklahoma controls its destiny.
Win out, they’re in the #CFP. If they win 2 of the next 3, they had a better season than many thought possible.
2. Brent Venables the HC is trending in a great direction after the Tennessee win.
If you want to be developed. If you want to be apart of a TEAM and CULTURE that’s different than anywhere else in the college football world — if you want to play physical football and be apart of a gritty team with natty aspirations, Oklahoma is the place for you.
3. Jim Nagy is about to earn his paycheck and reinforce the success we have going right now.
We have a small sample size of what happens with good transfer portal additions: Marvin Jones Jr, Kendal Daniels, Derek Simmons, Tate Sandell and Isaiah Sategna (to name a few.) The transfer portal & retention process is about to put Oklahoma over the hump. It’s Nagy season — and I’m here for it.
4. This team is YOUNG.
There are impactful freshman & sophomores everywhere across this roster getting meaningful reps against elite competition. The foundation has been poured and now we get to see a bright future of elite athletes with extremely high upsides and a passionate buy-in to the culture BV has built.
5. Oklahoma’s schedule is a breath of fresh air next year.
This team will have been battle-tested for two hard SEC years. Finally, Oklahoma will have an offense to complete a revenge tour. It’s not a cake walk by any means, but there should be more winnable games on the schedule in 2026.
I’m sure there’s a lot more to be excited about - and I’m sure there’s a lot more to be concerned about. But that’s how I see it at the moment.
