2025 taught us the hard way: the old 'broad alt season' where everything moons on rotation is basically dead.
Too many tokens, diluted liquidity, institutions parking in BTC/ETH. Market's matured, now it's selective. The tide no longer lifts all boats.
@j_tradeZ@Jesseeckel I disagree. @Jesseeckel has stayed incredibly consistent for 6 years now. He talks about projects he genuinely believes have potential and admits when he gets it wrong. We’ve all just been very wrong for the past 18 months.
@cryptofergani 21 & 25 were not the same. Just look at BTC dominance, ETH barely broke its ATH while BTC did a 7X. Thats matters. You now have to convince retail that Altcoins are worth the risk.
@GuarEmperor I almost agree but for a different reason. If BTC really does run in a 4 year cycle and Oct was the top. There was no alt season. The only reason people invest in alts is the potential of alt season. Why would you invest with no chance of upside.
Altcoins only get “saved” if BTC breaks the old cycle this year and dominance finally rolls over. If not, the new reality is simple: BTC runs, alts don’t. Why rotate into alts? #Altcoins
@NedelchevT23316@carlmoon Yep, very similar here! Was just waiting for previous ATH’s on a good 20 coins and they just never appeared. Scraped a few but just brutal. The lesson is that 3 data points is not enough to make informed decision (13,17,21)
The previous ATH has indicated the bottom for the last 2 cycles and is such a n obvious support, yet everyman and his dog is calling for $50k.
If it’s a typical 4 year cycle this area is the low. You cant have it all. #BTC
@Jesseeckel This time round. This looks very much like a 4 year BTC cycle but for alts it’s a big reset. If 2029 brings euphoria for alts again then the whole thing will start again.
@Jesseeckel I get there will be liquidity and I hear all of that. The main reason retail go heavy on Alts is the belief that we hit another blow off top like 17 & 21. That hasn’t happened.
“If I put $100 in Bitcoin in 2010 I’d have $2.8B now.”
No.
If you bought $100 of Bitcoin in 2010 and watched it go to:
$1k → $100k → $1.7M
and did nothing
Then watched $1.7M go to $170k
and still did nothing
Then watched $170k go to $110M
and still did nothing
Then watched $110M wither to $18M
and still did nothing
Then watched $18M surge to $390M
and still did nothing
Then watched $390M deteriorate to $85M
Then watched $85M climb to $1.6B
and still did nothing
Then watched $1.6B shrink to $390M
and still did nothing
Then watched $390M surge to $2.8B
and then for some reason finally decided to do something…
Then yes, $100 in 2010 would be worth $2.8B today.
