@HistoryBoomer I get the same reaction with my students in Texas. Most say we shouldn't have. They're shocked when I tell them that 85% of Americans at the time were for the bombs, and 23% wished we could have used more before Japan surrendered.
As I've been saying, Tucker - Sauron has been clear about his peaceful, unifying intentions, and yet Gondor persists in its expansionist schemes! The placement of a garrison in Osgiliath is an escalatory action that must be condemned by all the Free peoples of Middle Earth.
@ZaidJilani You can read about the patriotism of foreign born Union soldiers in the Civil War (25% of the army). They felt they owed service to the country that took them in from despotism.
@elemenop718@ZaidJilani So you were wrong about the French Revolution happening before the US, wrong about America just firing a few rounds, and have landed on, “but the Soviets did more.” I just want to plant a flag on all the ground you’ve retreated from to arrive at the non-sequitur.
@elemenop718@ZaidJilani Well, again not quite. The Soviets did the bulk of the fighting and dying, but that was on the Eastern Front. The United States led the Allies on the Western Front which freed France. But I see the goal posts are moving quickly from the original point.
Insulin discoverers Frederick Banting and Charles Best release this pair of photographs depicting a diabetes patient, a three-year-old child known as “J.L.,” before and after insulin treatment.
On December 15, he weighed 15 pounds and was about to die. Now, he’s a healthy boy.
The miracle of insulin: scientists in Toronto go to the diabetes ward of a children’s hospital, where dozens are expecting to die from the once-fatal disease, and one-by-one inject them each with insulin. Within minutes, they begin to wake up, talk, and move around.
