We feel a little less flattered when the Bible calls us servants or slaves of Jesus instead of warriors, heirs, and kings' children. But we need to read the WHOLE Bible, not just the parts that make us feel the most comfortable. The apostle Paul calls true believers slaves of Jesus because He bought them with His blood at a price. As a result, they have become Jesus' personal property:

"You were bought at a price; therefore do not be slaves of men." (1 Corinthians 7:23)

"... slaves of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart." (Ephesians 6:6).
