@RachelReevesMP So what are you going to do? Everything you have done so far has put the country into recession mode. If you want growth reduce vat, cancel the Ni increase on business, and get the population spending again. 15% on a major purchase is better than 20% on no purchase. Gordon Brown
@RachelReevesMP what a waste of money that trip was.120 million per year is that all?China exports 300 million of furniture to us a MONTH. It will increase because it is labour intensive and you are increasing production costs for uk factories in April. Economic madness
Dear Prime Minister please make sure you and your party are out of power for a long time after 2029. Cancel winter fuel allowance, cancel single person council tax. Cancel free bus pass. A Perfect strategy.
Despite being one of the highest paid groups of workers earning 65 to £100,000 per year train drivers are to get a 15% increase spread over three years and backdated.
Government subsidy in the last year was £11.9 billiion because passenger revenue was only £9.2 billion. Crazy!
@JeromeLucey Nuno will get sacked at some point in the future like all Forest Managers/Coaches. It is the one inevitable outcome. It’s just a question of when.
I’ve written to @Keir_Starmer to request he pays for the criminal damage the Just Stop Oil attacks on the Energy Security Department caused this morning
As the political wing of Just Stop Oil, it is the Labour Party not the taxpayer that should be paying the bill
Since the UK left the EU, France has grown 8.8%, Britain 8.7%, Germany 8.1% and Italy 6.1%.
Unemployment has reduced from 4.7% to 3.9% - adding 1 million jobs.
By July 2022, our exports to the EU were not just the highest since Brexit but the highest ever.
Starmer earns £130-140k per year. If he serves as prime minister he will get a pension of £120k. 70% of population save for a private pension not 1%. To get the same pension as Starmer you will need a pension pot of £3 million.Starmer wants tax of 55% of over £1.07 million!
Working people are paying the price under this Tory government.
Yesterday's budget saw more of the same sticking plaster politics, and a pension tax break for the richest 1%.
Labour will reverse this handout, and grow our economy for the benefit of all.

That's a lie, a direct lie, he's lying,that's a lie,that's a lie, that is a lie, a direct lie,direct lie,that is a lie, he's lying. You've also lied that we left negotiations on Saturday.. You are a liar, You're lying You are a liar, and you're a liar You're a liar #RailStrikes
Don’t worry about it. There aren’t enough of them to make an impact. There will be less of them after the next election if they keep supporting strikes.
@NavPMishra@PaulaBarkerMP@KimJohnsonMP@RMTunion@StockportCLP The treacherous thing about this dispute is you expect government funding. Revenue in the last year was £5.9 billion down from £11 billion the year before Covid. Solution is simple. Cut costs to match revenue. Reduce capacity and staff like every other business would.
@PippaCrerar 990 million train journeys in last 12 months. 1,739 million pre Covid. Revenue £11 billion pre Covid. £5.9 billion last 12 months.
Simple maths is we do not need as many trains, we do not need as many railway workers. The unions are totally nuts to call strikes with these stats.
David
It is much easier for goods destined for the Republic to be exported direct through Dublin and ship goods destined for Northern Ireland through Belfast. No need for the protocol that way. It’s called the kiss principle. Keep it Simple Stupid
It will not be easy to convince the EU to reform the Protocol. The obstructive bureaucrats are powerful. But so are the various heads of government of the EU’s member states.
Boris must go on a tour of European capitals appealing directly to prime ministers and presidents.
