WATCH: Mayor Leni Robredo shares the news that she received a text message from the Office of the Executive Secretary informing her that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. signed the proclamation converting Naga from an independent component city to a highly urbanized city.

The milestone coincides with the 68th birth anniversary of Robredo's late husband, former Interior Secretary and longtime Naga City Mayor Jesse Robredo.

A plebiscite shall be held within 120 days to ratify the declaration of Naga as highly urbanized city.
