Bob Uecker received the Hall of Fame's Ford C. Frick Award and gave his Cooperstown speech in 2003.
The speech became famous for how funny it was, with Johnny Bench later calling it the greatest Hall of Fame speech. Uecker somehow turned a career honor into a comedy performance without making the honor feel smaller.
That's a difficult balance, and he was uniquely built for it.
