@realPrestonHill Losing Texas would be tragic to GOP morale but dems losing it would hurt theirs in Texas as well. I think the GOP understands the gravity of the situation and polling seems to suggest that money can save Paxton
@TonerousHyus It’s misleading to saw the strait of Hormuz has been bypassed. Oil flows are certainly up but we need the strait to be open to bring down fertilizer prices and further allow oil exports to increase. The blockade is absolutely crippling them though
@HappyMomofBen Is there any proof for any of these claims? The only poll I’ve seen so far shows the race tightening in favor of Paxton (still a bad situation though).
@realPrestonHill Abbott is only +5 with non college voters here. That seems a bit low, but are those margins for Rs among blue collar workers just smaller in general because of the Hispanic makeup?
@realPrestonHill He’s basically maxed out among democrats and whatever share he got with republicans is probably maxed out or will decline soon with the attack ads coming in. Paxton will probably win +1.5 to +2 unless brown screws him ovrr
@Not_Dem_Not_Rep@realPrestonHill Bro you know $100 million in ads didn’t run yet right? Also adjusting for candidate rate that shit is more like $50 million lol
@TroyMOlson This is a center right country. As a republican, be proud to represent your voters and put them first, and you’ll probably win your election. I wouldn’t necessarily be discouraged by a bad environment because we will and can always come back stronger
@TroyMOlson No, more democratic internals could absolutely coincide with weak R performance. The only counter to this I can think of is that more D polls are being released because of fundraising needs, but I wouldn’t believe that.
@realPrestonHill I think I would lean towards option 2 more broadly, but option 1 for this poll specifically. A lot of voters are frustrated that their senators aren’t doing more to act in the interest of their states but instead being to loyal to the White House (for Rs)
@realPrestonHill Isn’t around 40% college electorate about right in Iowa? Is text heavy sampling bad in Iowa because of the older electorate being less responsive to it?
