@maxdubler not to defend Nimby's, but if it's a new build apartment building with state or city mandated affordable units, that is literally what is happening
@InlandCaGuy idk man, i went to college 19-23 when biden was in office, the other big story is "wokeism" or whatever you want to call it, it was just mainstream opinion among my colleagues that america was a evil country. People really believed the white supremest nation stuff
@InlandCaGuy yes, but the people I'm describing are so prevalent in the leadership and media class of the party I think those beliefs are reflected in democrats language and have long since started to trickle down to highly engaged Democrats.
@avidseries@StatisticUrban decent president, but contributed substantially to the de industrialization and financialization of the US economy, and his changes to lending rules set the state for the GFC.
@Rowdyyates_J5@I35V2 New factories get built in places with a good workforce. Very commonly texas these days. Hard to sell a factory on spending millions to open up in a small city with an aging and declining population
@BEllis87@fiago7@coop_dawg9 come on I'm sure it got redeeming qualities, its still in the United States but what would be worse? The only thing I could think of would be something like jackson MS.
@BEllis87@fiago7@coop_dawg9 i've been there once. good BBQ by the mlk museum. Pyramid is fun. beale street is an acceptable bar area. downtown is a bit bleak otherwise. acceptable as an afternoon stop, not something i would recommend to foreigners.
