ICYMI: Check out this video that shows who I am, where I came from, and where I plan on going as your San Francisco District 6 Supervisor! Ballots dropped today, so get out and VOTE! #D6Together
@fliume That’s the other issue with our property tax system in CA. They go up to the state then back down by formula (especially for education spending).
So many have focused on Prop C that I will be one voice to highlight the big win for No on Prop 5. This is a big step towards what we should be doing- repealing all of Prop 13. We will never make progress on upping public education spending or making cities affordable without it.
@fliume The biggest challenge is explaining to people what happens after repeal and why that world is better. Home prices would lower, schools would be better, etc. It will take time but I believe there is a narrative there that everyone could understand.
@Josh_Hawn A worthy idea but highly dependent on development potential - which is easily manipulated through zoning and politics. That said, it’s the idea behind tax increment financing (aka the tool that brought us Mission Bay etc.)
@manar0808@graue I was not joking when I said that if I didn’t win the D6 Supe race that Id put energy into this effort. Not sure at the moment. I’m going to be taking stock of where efforts are now. I know split roll is headed for the ballot. A literal/figurative 1/2 measure.
France recognizes the value of congestion pricing - reducing congestion while funding transit. Assemblymember @RichardBloom & I are working on legislation to authorize congestion pricing in CA, as pilot programs in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Santa Monica. https://t.co/xHWGqUYtir
I want to start by THANKING everyone who donated, volunteered, hosted an event or just talked me up with their D6 friends. I want to THANK my awesome campaign team. For most on my team, this was their first... https://t.co/UPytrdA6UZ
Good morning San Francisco! After flyering til 2am last night, back on the streets for @johnson_d6 and @SonjaTrauss for District 6 Supervisor! We'll be going til the polls close, and I'll be text banking for NV, TX, and elsewhere in between.
Yes. I said this at a debate because residents feel electeds should be focusing all of their energy on cleaning up the City and making it more affordable. A cafeteria ban is not a step towards either one of those goals.
We’re fighting for the next generation of San Franciscans. As a parent, I’m proud to be working to make this city better for our families. Tell your friends and family members to get out and #VOTE today!
I voted @johnson_d6 and @SonjaTrauss #1 and #2 in the SF District 6 election. I think both, but particularly Johnson, bring the policy chops necessary to bring true reforms to San Francisco. If you haven't voted yet, especially if you live in D6, go vote!

District 6 voters have TWO great choices for Supervisor today. Rank Sonja Trauss and Christine Johnson with your first and second choice, in whichever order you prefer! These two working moms will bring needed change to our neighborhoods.
