Teachers want smaller class sizes – that’s why Alberta's government is building 130 schools and this deal would hire 3,000 new teachers.
Teachers want support for increasing complex classrooms – this deal would hire 1500 new EAs to support teachers.
Lets say yes to that plan.
Last night’s provincial byelection in Alberta brought decisive outcomes:
👉 Edmonton‑Ellerslie saw 8,511 votes cast, with the NDP securing a strong showing to maintain their position with newly elected MLA Gurtej Singh Brar. Despite polls suggesting growing support for the UCP in Edmonton, the party failed to break into the urban centre.
👉 Edmonton‑Strathcona recorded 9,665 ballots, and the NDP continued their dominance with a commanding 7,952 votes, securing Naheed Nenshi's position as leader of the NDP.
👉 Olds‑Didsbury‑Three Hills saw 15,318 votes, where the UCP led the charge with 9,363 votes, holding firm in one of their strongest rural ridings with Tara Sawyer as the new UCP MLA. Separatist Alberta Republican Party Leader Cam Davies received only 2,705 votes, placing third.
👉 After Monday’s by-elections, the UCP holds 47 seats, the NDP has 38, and there are two independents.
These numbers highlight urban NDP strength in Edmonton and continued UCP support in rural Alberta. For analysis on what this means for party dynamics and policy direction, subscribe to get access to our full breakdown, coming soon!

Absolute bombshell drop in the Alberta Health Care Scandal from the Globe and Mail.
The chief of staff at the centre of the scandal was living in a 1.6-million dollar home owned by a family member of Sam Mraiche.
Unbelievable. This is from the Globe and Mail.
Meta's outage might be forcing me to start my vacation one day early. What is it like to have a job that gets more productive when these platforms go down, instead of the opposite?
