Email + affiliate + PHP geek since 2005 ๐ Making $80k+ monthly in the travel niche โ๏ธ Next: YouTube, Facebook & the journey to $100k ๐ฌ๐ง๐ฎ๐น
July 2024 numbers:
$90,060 Earnings
$25,904 Expenses
$64,156 Profit
This is a catch up post for June and July. I massively upped my Facebook ads budget so my expenses have increased significantly
My earnings are almost all affiliate-based in the high-end travel niche so experience seasonality. I mainly earn CPC, with a bit of CPA and tenancy.
Insta/YouTube progress report:
I've started a brand new YouTube channel that follows my new property investment venture. My launch strategy is to build up an Instagram following to help launch the videos.
At first, I tried the "follow as many people as possible" approach, but got banned for three weeks ๐
Then I decided to throw money into boosting reels. And you know what, the ban got lifted instantly ๐คท๐ผโโ๏ธ
None of the big non-search affiliates accept a CPA deal. There are too many reasons why you wouldn't be credited for the sale: Cashback sites stealing sales at the last minute; users rejecting cookies; browser privacy settings; incorrect attribution setup to name a few.
I work hard to deliver the user to a travel site, so I want to be paid regardless of a sale. It's not my job to close the deal

Starting something completely new is such a buzz. I've set up my new YouTube channel and accompanying Insta.
I've been on a deep dive into video planning and production, marketing and designing the supporting brand.
And I've already got 1 subscriber ๐
@denmartine84682 It's massively out of my comfort zone as I'm fronting it myself (so I'm not sharing it here!) It's all about my new side hustle in property development
@daftsimo When your site is big enough you ask for a cpc deal straight away, either through a network or as a direct arrangement. I pretty much refuse to work on cpa now, what with all the problems with cookies and attribution
@daftsimo You're unlikely to find cpc on offer by default. I would start working with a partner on their cpa terms and then try to negotiate a cpc deal when you're sending a bit of traffic
