Improve Your Takeaway!

Do you struggle to get your golf swing started the right way? Chances are, your takeaway isn’t helping! I see a lot of golfers rotating incorrectly in the takeaway, here’s a drill to master it

🔹Too much rotation causes the club to go inside

🔹Put an alignment stick in between the belt loops, don’t max out rotation, but don’t “not rotate” either

🔹During the takeaway, make sure the alignment stick rotates only a small amount

🔹This will help the club move back on plane, & track right up in front of you

How to hit the golf ball with a right-to-left flight. From set up, push your club head and body weight out to the right with the toe of the club pointing to the sky. Then swing halfway back, focusing on smoothly returning to the initial position. Start slow.

🔥Stop Hanging Back🔥

A common tendency for the recreational golfer is ”hanging back”

When you try to “rotate”, we forget that we need to shift “laterally” first, which gets our pressure into the lead side, then you are free to rotate

🛑 STOP YOUR OVER THE TOP 🛑

This is one of the most common drills I’ll give a player who comes “over the top” where they might hit pulls & slices

🔹Place a golf club down behind the golf ball

🔹Measure half a foot and place and alignment stick in the ground at the same angle as your club sits at address

🔹Work on swinging under the stick not over it

✅ Over the top, pulls, slices… GONE!
