People are missing a key point about the right's lies about the Paul Pelosi attack. Shaming and fact-checking have no chance of working, because the whole point is that the lying and the deranged cruelty are a naked assertion of power in their own right.

@FPWellman When I joined the US Army I was required to sign a document that swore I did not nor ever had belonged to an organization intent on overthrowing the US government by violence or force of arms. I don’t think Republicans can make that claim anymore.
@ParissAthena It's a lifelong commitment. No matter how old they get, that feeling that of responsibility never *entirely* goes away. My kids didn't choose me. I chose them.

@LeaVerou My gripe is cooking times. A “30-minute” recipe the times alone coming to 30 minutes with no thought to prep, move items in & out of pans, waiting for pans to heat, water to boil, etc.
@skrishna@AstroKatie When I lived in Seoul, South Korea in the mid ‘80s I’d see people wearing masks, especially in flu season. I thought then that it made a lot of sense. Too bad it took us so long.
Best practices?! Don't talk to me about "best practices." If people were concerned about "best practices," I wouldn't be in this mess in the first place!
