@brianharrisdh8 Well they have to if recruitment and retention isn't keeping numbers up. Many years ago when I was an RDS Ff you were not allowed to book off if it meant the pump went below 4. Lives have changed so much nowadays and people work further from home. There is no golden nugget
@brianharrisdh8 Save the personal opinion tweet by all means. We are talking about rapid deployment of 2 FF's in "exceptional circumstances" defined in NOG, HSE Striking the Balance etc, which the FBU were part of.
@brianharrisdh8 2 x FF, Rapid Deployment in PBI gold, 200 lpm HRJ, CABA, training, experience and public expectation versus 75 year old vulnerable person in bed clothes ???

@Robshaw3117@stevejhealey @Robbiebarb I understand it isn't ideal, but from having experienced the model, it is purely based on the longer attendance times of other appliances. Every 3 PC responses are analysed to look into risk to crews. However 3 PC is the exception rather than the norm.
@andrewp512342 @stevejhealey @Robbiebarb That must be service policy. I accept a Trainee won't have as much experience as others but their knowledge and skills should be equal if not higher
@Robshaw3117@stevejhealey @Robbiebarb Firstly I am not making the cuts. I am looking at it from a member of the publics perspective who doesn't want cuts either but understands the financial pressures on FRS's around council tax of which we already pay enough.
@firerescuetruth@stevejhealey @Robbiebarb I agree there are many situations where a crew of 4, 5 or 6 would be better. My point supports mobilising a crew of 3 which in my previous service was supported by the same PDA. There is a lot 3 can do rather than be OTR and have additional response times
@firerescuetruth@stevejhealey @Robbiebarb I am not sure about that. Riding with 3 is a strategic decision based on risk. This needs to be underpinned by realistic training on decision making
@Robshaw3117@stevejhealey @Robbiebarb I am not saying its acceptable as the norm but an alternative to the pump OTR. In many services the next pump can be 15 - 20 minutes away not 5 as quoted by many
@TheSecretFF999 Although retired now I do agree with 3 riders who could deploy a BA team to save a saveable life in a fire or do something to minimise escalation. Always in a justifiable risk based approach
