Over the last two days the Lancashire Drone Team has been assisting our colleagues in @manchesterfire and @WYFRS at a large Wildfire near Littleborough. The Drone offers excellent situational awareness for Incident commanders on fire spread, smoke plume and firefighter safety.
Being a European today basically means having a pretty excellent day until around 5 pm when the White House starts posting the dumbest shit you've ever had the misfortune to read.
Every. Damn. Day.
If anyone is having a clear out of old clothes following Christmas, please consider our Fire Fighters Charity Clothes Bank at Carlisle East Fire Station- which helps raise vital funds to help injured firefighters.
Today the drone team were mobilised to a fire involving a wind turbine in Trawden. The Turbine was well alight on our arrival, due to a stiff breeze our large drone was used to monitor the fire and offer situational awareness to the Incident Commander.

On Wednesday morning Lazonby and Penrith crews were mobilised to an outbuilding fire at Melkinthorpe.
On arrival crews were met by a well established building fire which had almost completely destroyed the structure.
🚒 Between 6.30pm and 9.00pm tomorrow (01/10/25) several CFRS crews will be taking part in a training exercise at Lazonby Auction Mart.
Do not be alarmed if you notice an increased number of service vehicles in the village and by the river during this time.
We’re aware of some online rumours, to clarify, no flags were harmed during the CCTV installation.
The photo shows officers fitting a camera at a local church after vandalism reports. The flag stayed put.

Today we published our latest inspection of @CumbriaFire.
The service has improved how it identifies risk and how it works with the community, but it still needs to improve its IT system and workforce planning.

Grenfell Uncovered is a hard watch.
The injustice for the people who died and those affected is horrendous. It says a lot when Eric Pickles was put in the Lords and not prison. It sums up the attitude of the decision makers towards the victims.
