Between 10am and 1pm tomorrow (Saturday 16 August), firefighters from @Fire_Kendal will be tackling a simulated building fire at Sand Aire House in Kendal, which enables us to practise our procedures designed to protect you in the event of a real incident.

What's waiting for us behind door number 1?
Many firefighters do not use the TIC for size up. Scanning the exterior for thermal bridges can indicate the fire location, thermal severity, and survivable spaces.
By using unique application modes such as the Search & Rescue Mode on the FLIR K55, a firefighter can see colorized areas of thermal threat beginning at 200 degrees Fahrenheit.

Recently I praised guidance on "Foundation for Firefighting" on NFCC website, so to put everything into balance, I will now express my disappointment to see such an outdated info as this in the same document. "Creating a seal around the door" is impossible and very inefficient.
@stackofire Thereโs some positive information in there without doubt but completely agree with this @stackofire, this was incorrect when it was originally published let alone considered outdated now.
Another exceptional video from Matt. This time about ventilation induced flashover.
Check out his other clips as well. He makes complex subjects easy to understand. This should be compulsory watching for all new firefighters (and some older ones too ๐).

@WM_GMFRS_BA@LancashireFRS Great day. Always inspired by days like these. Fantastic as always to catch up with you Dave and great to meet some of Lewisโs and the Lancs Team. One thing is for certain, the future of Tactical Firefighting has never been so bright with the passion of those driving it!
Tonight we had @andysmanclubuk for a Station induction.
They will be holding weekly meetings in our Community Room, beginning Monday 11th November.

@dminto2010 Hi David, this sounds great. Wouldnโt mind a chat with you about this if you have time? Iโm part of an emerging tech group in Cumbria FRS, which has the aim of educating and providing input to crews and something like this would be on my agenda to develop up here.
@stackofire@WM_GMFRS_BA Always welcome for me @stackofire
Like minded people learning from each other. Pleasure to listen to your thoughts and opinions.
