250 years after the U.S. declared its independence from a monarchy, we find ourselves drifting deeper into a more dictatorial form of government. But that's not a foregone conclusion. Our nation’s work – the work of living up to our founding creed – has always been unfinished.
So, the eyes of Kansans will be on you, @JerryMoran. And I, for one, am perfectly willing to applaud any efforts to do right by our state, our people, and our future. Again, with so much on the line in this bill, a little bit of courage could mean the world to your constituents.
As the Senate takes up the so-called “Big, Beautiful Bill” this week, I want to send some appreciation to @JerryMoran for voicing opposition to many of its ugliest provisions – & standing up for Kansans in the process. Crunch time is here, & a little courage could go a long way.
So, to my Democratic friends, keep your eyes and ears open for positive actions – and keep your voices engaged. While there's almost no doubt that the end product will be ugly, there are many ways it could be even worse for the people and communities of our state and country.
It's been #100Days, and Americans are fed up with the Trump Administration. Our job now is to make sure — as the threats to democracy grow — more engagement happens as well.
I firmly believe we're up for the challenge. Read More: https://t.co/2dajo6m7kN
Are we sleepwalking into a dictatorship? Where is the accountability for the unelected billionaires and the incompetent officials and appointees who are putting our national security and virtually every aspect of American life under threat? Read more: https://t.co/pj92K35pbT
It’s hard to express how angry and frustrated I am about what’s happening in our country. And, for me, the only choice is to continue speaking out and supporting others who are standing up. The task of preserving our Constitution has fallen to us. https://t.co/3Vv8MCCSvQ
I urge @SecRubio to distribute the $340 million in American-grown food currently stalled in U.S. ports to reach those in need.
Time is running out before this life-saving aid perishes.
This week, the Senate takes up critical confirmations, which will determine just how far toward dictatorship our country will slip. Who will have the courage to stand up for the Constitution & reject these unqualified nominees? My appeal to Senator Moran: https://t.co/P62te9NUkE
As we reflect on President #JimmyCarter's exceptional 100-year life of service, I want to make one thing absolutely clear: There would have been no Speaker or Governor John Carlin without Jimmy Carter.

I'm excited to launch a new project on my website—one that features your voices rather than mine. This new partnership with the Kansas Oral History Project aims to gather stories and advance a broader conversation about leadership in our state and country. https://t.co/caV56YQTwM
#JimmyCarter's visit to Kansas in 1975 changed everything for me — and it left a lasting impact on our state in the decades since.
I'm grateful for the many opportunities I've had to work with President Carter.

#GoVOTE! Once you've cast your ballot, make sure friends, family, and neighbors make it there too. Offer a ride if you can or any assistance they need. Friends don't let friends skip elections! You can look up your polling place here: https://t.co/pz2lCbAZPk
If you haven't voted already, TODAY is the day to get to the polls across Kansas. They are open NOW and close at 7pm. All registered voters MUST weigh in, and I encourage all Kansans to consider the damage that would be caused by the proposed constitutional amendment.
