Under-the-Radar 2026 Wing John Williams Flashing Two-Way Upside

There was a lot to like from 2026 6’6” wing John Williams out of Bolles High School at the UCF Team Camp. An under-the-radar prospect, Williams brings a combination of tools that suggest long-term potential. His length, versatility, and feel on both ends of the floor make him an intriguing player to watch.

At Bolles, Williams takes on the role of primary ball handler, and that responsibility was evident throughout the camp. He displayed poise getting his team into sets, navigated pressure with control, and made sound decisions in the halfcourt. His ability to initiate offense at his size adds a valuable dimension to his game and hints at long-term versatility.

Offensively, Williams was effective when getting downhill. He used his length well to finish around the basket off the dribble, showing body control and touch through traffic. He even knocked down shots at times, adding another layer to his scoring ability and showing signs of continued growth as a perimeter threat. Whether in transition or attacking out of isolation, he showed confidence as a slasher with the ability to absorb contact and finish plays inside.

Defensively, Williams showed a lot of promise. His length and lateral movement allowed him to be disruptive both on the ball and in help situations. He was active in passing lanes, altered shots at the rim, and stayed in front of his assignment. Whether guarding smaller guards or wings, his ability to switch and contest stood out.

While his offensive scoring package is still developing, the foundation is clearly there. With his size, tools, and defensive upside, Williams has the tools to be a solid player at the next level. As his perimeter game continues to evolve, he projects as a versatile, two-way contributor with long-term potential.
