@Mochachinaswirl Delicate dance, indeed! Every kid absorbs, transmits, and reflects situations and lessons differently. My sisters and I were examples of how tough love can be interpreted differently. What worked on me often times didn't work on them, and vice versa.

Tough love is often frowned upon. Most don't realize that what they received as "tough love," was actually a person venting their inner demons, thus, mainly receiving the tough. True tough love is equally tough and love. I'm a rare (grateful) recipient of this balance.
