It’s funny how I paid a web developer to revamp my website and the first thing I got back was a long list of things I needed to provide before they could even start.

Basically a full requirements catalogue

Life got busy, and I didn’t get around to pulling everything together.

But what really stood out to me is this:

AI didn’t replace the developer, it worked with me in real time, as I was thinking, I was creating and iterating.

It honestly felt like having a developer sitting next to me saying, “go on, try that idea… yeah, that works.”

Just coming back to my earlier point about AI.

Jack Dorsey has laid off 40% of Block’s workforce.

Just a tweet.

And before the day was out, 4,000 careers had changed course.

Not because the economy had crashed.

But because AI walked into the workplace and it doesn’t draw a salary.

Upskill and build influence.

Lean into the parts of the job that require human thinking, making decisions, solving messy problems, understanding people and leading when things are uncertain.

The future doesn’t just land on us.

At a conference I attended recently, in the middle of all the excitement about AI and other emerging technologies, someone asked a single question that cut through the noise.

“How do we make sure AI doesn’t take our jobs?”

And then came the deafening silence.

It’s about awareness.

The people who thrive won’t be the ones who resist change.

They’ll be the ones who evolve with it.
