@uzzy1029@oi_sady@officiallevi_c0 I'd add one step before the decision: show the trade-off in real terms. "This $60 = 3 days of your grocery budget" hits harder than a category label. Then a 24-hour "cool off" option for anything over a set amount. Most impulse buys don't survive the wait.
Designing โAbberโ โ an app to help DHH children express their feelings & communicate safely with parents & therapists.
Your feedback will shape it ๐

@Nourfaraj21 Such an important problem. Communication gaps around feelings are hard for DHH kids. For survey responses, Deaf parent groups on Facebook, audiology clinic networks, and local Deaf associations would reach exactly the right people. Reposting!
@aymanmsb In the middle of this right now. What's working so far: replying to founders who post "looking for testers" and actually helping (tips, feedback) before ever mentioning my thing. Way warmer than cold DMs. Also hunting "drop your startup" threads every few days.
Cronometer if you want accuracy, MyFitnessPal if you want the biggest food database, Lose It if you want simple. Also saw a new indie one this week, onstreak (https://t.co/qAKekFsVx8), that tracks food + workouts and lets you challenge friends, worth a look if you like trying new stuff.
StoryGraph is the fan favorite right now: great stats, mood-based recs, and you can import from Goodreads. Bookly is nice if you want reading timers and streaks.
If you like trying new apps early, we're starting a Reading & Books community on Earlynest where indie devs share new ones ๐
@KsHiTiJ_ptl Splitting group costs is a real pain. I track fees for a couple of tennis teams and it's always "who paid what?" One feature idea: a recurring group expense (like monthly court fees) that auto-splits and reminds whoever hasn't paid. No Android here, but would love to see that.
@PsyCodesAI EARLY ๐ Being early is kind of our whole thing. Love that feedback is a tab in the app instead of buried in settings. Is FitLyfe more workout tracking, nutrition, or both?
@WhoIsImai Congrats on the launch! What kind of challenges can friends set: most workouts in a week, step counts, or nutrition goals too? Competitive meal tracking could be a fun differentiator.
Polls on X struggle to reach the right people. Your exact users are sleep-deprived new parents, not founders scrolling. Newborn and breastfeeding Facebook groups or r/NewParents would get you real answers fast. A physical button for 3am feeds is smart, phones are the worst at that hour.
@DurodolaOlami Opened it on my phone. Super clean, and the daily discovery card is a great touch. Making it a PWA instead of an app store download is smart: zero friction for parents to try.
@kvasiapp A Norse mythology world is such a fresh angle. Most kids' learning apps all look the same. What age range is it built for? And are subjects woven into the adventure, or separate lessons inside the world?
@fzeeplus Reposting for Android folks! Tip for the 12-tester rule: r/AndroidClosedTesting and r/playmygame are full of devs who swap tests and actually stay the 14 days. Pixel art looks great, good luck!
@donsoloandchewy Love the Travel Stamp style. Perfect for hoodies. Does it handle multiple pets in one photo? That's a common ask for families with two dogs or a dog and cat.
That's the classic beta trap: testers from r/betatesters are mostly other builders, not your real users. Two things that help:
1. Ask 3 specific questions instead of "any feedback?"
2. Find where your actual audience hangs out, not app-maker spaces.
That gap is why I'm building Earlynest: regular people opt in by interest to test apps.
@KanoiKrishnav You're exactly who I'm building for! Earlynest is basically a home screen of unfinished side projects on purpose: pick your interests, get invited to beta test new apps early. Founding member spot is yours if you want it.
@L_Bridgeford3 Happy to help pass it along! Love that it reads questions and answers aloud. Huge for early readers. I'm building Earlynest, where parents opt in to try new kids' apps. Would love to feature Knights Learning Quest there for free.
A few I found this week that deserve more eyes:
๐ธ Obturia: film-look photo editor with depth controls (iOS beta)
๐ถ NewRoots: baby care + parent wellbeing in one app
๐ฐ Needs Vs. Wants: budgeting that builds real financial discipline
Collecting early-stage gems like these on Earlynest ๐ก
@uzzy1029@oi_sady@officiallevi_c0 Needs vs. wants is the right core habit to build. As an accountant, that's the line most people never draw. Does the app make users categorize each purchase themselves, or suggest it? The manual step is annoying but probably where the learning happens.
@oi_sady Building Earlynest ๐ก Communities where people opt in to try new apps early, so founders can find their first users. Starting with budgeting, sports and parenting. Let's connect!
