Part of my poem “Watts Bleeds” appears in a 200-foot mural unveiled Saturday at the Watts Historic Train station. I wrote it to honor the 1965 Watts Rebellion. I lived in Watts til age 8 and returned in my early 20s. My oldest kids were born then when I lived in Florence & Watts.
