language is sort of like a galois connection, shared meaning is the closure on two partially ordered sets. private meaning is the set of residuals that remain literally ineffable because they are outside of the closure. perhaps thinking of it like an adjoint functor is a better abstraction. anyways, if you thought about it like this you'd be much better at poasting or posting to tpot whether thats about navier stokes, ai safety and alignment, dario amodei's letter about pacing the frontier, or simply responding to a banger @tszzl post. log off, @joinphilosophy to learn more. no independent evaluator needed. jacob coxon in shambles, president trump declared himself to be e/acc already. tech needs a reset. openai and anthropic are going to do interesting things with google's fly connectome. spacex's next generation falcon rocket will be really cool. self driving is safe now, and machine consciousness is the next frontier. though i still think @ylecun is right; we should focus on energy based models like JEPAs more than we focus on LLMs

We need a community and practice-centered approach to address fundamental human needs, privileging solutions which have already been attested by multiple classical societies. The aesthetic especially rewards low-to-no-cost activities: Dialectic, running, meditation, wrestling, dancing, reading, acting and so on. The ethos is that, in most cases, you already have everything you need to live a meaningful life, except perhaps organization and community.

just finished guiding a peripatetic group tour on labor, work and action in central park for a very large group of people and donors. feeling invigorated about @joinphilosophy and our national expansion. best part is that i got to talk about hannah arendt for 2 hours 😆
