The gap between deployment and governance capacity between capital availability and capital accessibility, between policy ambition and institutional readiness is where the transition either holds or fractures.
That is precisely where Solar Futures Alliance operates.
IRENA released its Renewable Capacity Statistics 2026 this week. The headline number is 692 GW of new renewable capacity added in 2025, the largest single-year expansion ever recorded.
The direction is confirmed.
What remains unresolved is whether the systems that govern, finance, and translate this momentum into durable development outcomes are keeping pace.
SFA's Strategic Director, @shauryaritwik delivered remarks at the inaugural opening ceremony, and also delivered a keynote: "Financing the Solar Century", emphasising that energy dependence is not simply an economic vulnerability but a strategic one.
The ASEE 2026 has concluded, and we leave Bangkok more certain than ever that the energy transition across Global South is not a future ambition but a present imperative. The event delivered what this moment required: the right people, and the right conversations.
