Dominic Raab recently said that only cases involving safeguarding and domestic abuse (50-60%) should be heard by a Judge. He recommended that couples settle out of court, where possible, through ADR. We fully support the use of ADR and encourage our clients to consider this.
It has been announced that the Divorce, Dissolution and Separation Act 2020 will come into force on 6th April 2022. This means that from next year married couples or civil partners can legally end their relationship without assigning blame, modernising old fashioned divorce laws.
