Matt—You are correct. These people are all conflating household members picking up after themselves with running a household.

I am a SAHM. I run my household. My house is dusted, vacuumed, and clean. Laundry is washed. Ingredients for meals and snacks are procured and prepared. Children are taken to appointments and events. All these things are done by me. These things are MY responsibility because this is my job. I do not seek formal employment so i can be free to take care of my family—including my husband.
The fact that husbands sometimes assist with housework is often not taken into consideration with these perspectives. Even Ward Cleaver helped with the dinner dishes at the end of the day.
