@ResilienceAct Feminist around kakuma are try but funding is what limit them to amplify the voices of survives....I know of a few who are doing survive empowerment like blossom
Good notes by @nyamoriv that need critical discussion on the directive that @DRSKenya gave out recently on surrendering of passports by refugees, I think first refugees just like anyone else must respect the laws of the country this is obvious, however revoking a refugee status needs careful review case by case & not generalizing grounds to fully establish the grounds as spelled in the current refugee act 2021 & other international refugee law instruments on revoking & granting of refugees status, I think we need a deep dive into some of the documentation root causes i.e challenges refugees have faced in accessing CTDs and perhaps as @nyamoriv suggested thinking of a transparent & simplified process/platform of acquiring such documents would be ideal, data protection is Key on this as well so CRA @burugu_j with your leadership - I think looking at the role of stakeholders in supporting to make the refugee system streamlined, receptive & accessible is important and hence perhaps more deep dive needed on this issues.
"Priorities for Advancing AYSRHR in Africaโ at RHNK 2024 conference has been a great experience for our team to table rights issues facing refugee women and girls in Turkana. Our representative, Monica from Kakuma refugee camp, is on ground setting the panel discussion on fire ๐ฅ

#InternationalWomensDay2024 may had just been one day on the calendar, but its significance extends far beyond 24 hours. It's a reminder to celebrate, empower, and uplift women every single day. Here's to strong women: may we know them, may we be them, may we raise them.

Jokes about this serious offence create a dangerous acceptance of violence against women
It is crucial to unite and protect our women and girls from this violation of human rights
The recent surge in femicide in Kenya is a heartbreaking reality we can no longer ignore. Let's support survivors, and challenge the structures that perpetuate violence against women and girls. #StopKillingWomen#EndFemicideKE#LetsEndFemicide
