MONKEY WALKED INTO THE OCTAGON AND STARTED LANDING SHOTS ON A HEAVYWEIGHT
Round one. Clock running. Broadcast graphics in the corner
None of it happened
Watch it a second time and stop looking at the monkey. Look at everything around it:
→ the scorebug holds. fighter names, round number, and a clock that actually counts down across the whole clip instead of resetting between shots
→ the sponsor branding sits where it always sits - on the mat, in the corner, along the cage skirt
→ the fence passes in front of the fighters and occludes them correctly. that is the shot most generators still lose
→ it cuts between camera positions. wide, low, mat level. the same animal survives every cut
→ and it stays in character for twenty straight seconds. throws, clinches, goes to the ground. no morphing, no drifting face, no extra fingers
a year ago you could generate a monkey. you could not generate a broadcast
that is the line that actually moved. the hard part of fake footage was never the subject. it was everything the subject is standing inside - the graphics package, the lighting, the lens, the rhythm of the cut. that is the layer your brain reads before it decides anything, and it files the whole thing under "saw it on TV"
which is why "is this AI" stopped being the useful question this year. the useful question is what it is standing in
