@KeyWatkins51299 I think the white eyes work better for villains because having blank eyes makes a character look soulless because the eyes are the window to the soul. Daredevil doesn’t count because he’s literally blind.

Marvel Studios has clearly demonstrated that white (expressive) eyes CAN and WILL work in live action.

@KeyWatkins51299 The difference between not seeing someone’s eyes at all is your eye is drawn to their mouth to make up for lack of eyes. If you have white eyes there’s an emotional disconnect. I get Batman is a creature of the night but he’s also one of the most emotionally human characters.
