@edzitron I always think it’s funny how much they brag about this sort of thing and then the examples they use are always things that have gotten demonstrably worse.
@mitchellh I think this is totally fair. At the *very* least, you should be reviewing code when contributing to someone’s project. Maybe I am not ✨agentic✨ enough but I can’t imagine just yeeting shit out, especially into an OSS project that is well run like Ghostty
@DowdEdward@edzitron@DonMiami3 They raised them this morning. Memory upgrades look to be up ≈25% and base prices are too. $3300 MacBook Pro is now $4000 for example
@MonkeyEdge@CRKnives Also, your emotion about it is so cool. I think you use the word cheesy but it’s not cheesy at all. I’m a MEFP fanboy so I’m probably biased but yall deserve it
@66cjg@edzitron My mental model is by being frenemies they can make the most money. They can benefit from one another’s spending and run up in valuation. And also try to gain an edge.
@gr3atsilence@edzitron It’s not at all “skitzophrenic” (assuming you mean schizophrenic which has nothing to do with inconsistent worldviews if that’s what you’re trying to say)
Anthropic says “omg too dangerous”
And then “wow how could the gov do this to us”
They’re the ones being inconsistent
@Marketintel_x@HormuzLetter I mean, they are holding the global economy, hostage and causing a lot of political pain for the president. We just keep sometimes bombing because the president doesn’t want to look weak.
They have cards. The U.S. has a ground invasion and other horrible options.
@Stutigardum@edzitron Their uptime is not acceptable for any software company, particularly one positioning itself as some lynchpin of the economy that’s supposedly valued at nearly $1T. I’ve never worked somewhere that would accept less than “five 9’s” and anthropic regularly is at 1. So 95 vs 99.999
