The Strait of Hormuz crisis has shifted global shipping eyes to my constituency! Thiruvananthapuram’s Vizhinjam Port is currently seeing a massive surge with 100 vessels in queue or seeking calls.

From handling its 1 millionth TEU in record time to fast-tracking Phase II, Vizhinjam is officially India's transshipment answer to the world. When I first helped bring in the tender bid that made the port a reality, it was a long-shot project with plenty of sceptics and critics.

Today, the tides are turning at Vizhinjam. With the ongoing disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz, the world is looking for a new, reliable gateway — and Vizhinjam has answered the call. India’s first deep-water transshipment hub is no longer just a project; it’s a global necessity.

61 vessels handled in March 2026 alone, a new record. 100 berthing calls pending. Expansion underway to accommodate 5 motherships simultaneously. We are witnessing the birth of a maritime giant that doesn't just compete with global hubs like Colombo or Singapore; it sets a new standard.

One US pilot has been successfully rescued from Iran by US forces. For that, they have to use huge man power, air power and lose equipments worth hundreds of millions of dollars in the process. If US is going to send ground troops to Iran, where even hundreds or thousands of troops may be captured, imagine the consequences.

When Abhinandan Varthaman was captured by Pakistan, then Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan wanted to negotiate with India. India refused to engage with Imran Khan and said either send Abhinandan back safely or face disastrous consequences. Abhinandan was safely sent back.

During Operations Sindoor, we never caused destruction to hospitals or schools or residential areas. We were extremely precise on targets - terrorists and defence infrastructure.

Likewise US is unable to protect gulf countries from attacks. Their infrastructure is crumbling fast. How weak the US defence is?

When Pakistan hurled missiles and drones, were they able to cross the border and come inside India?

We take sadistic pleasure only in highlighting negatives of our country. We have proven ourselves through Operation Sindoor.

US and Israel have revealed how weak they are through Operation Epic Fury.

A poor PUNJABI father of a girl child worked as a carpenter . When his daughter decided to play cricket, he backed her . Got her into professional cricket training. His colleagues mocked him & laughed at him . He had a firm belief that his girl was special . The girl turned into a fine alrounder . When TEAM INDIA was struggling against SL in the WC opener, she scored the decisive runs, gave India a triumphant start to the campaign . She was consistently decent with the bat & ball. Scored a quick fire cameo & hit the winning runs in the semi finals, was again decent with the bat & ball in the finals , took the most crucial catch to dimiss LAURA WOLVAARDT . Her father watched the finals on a big screen with the villagers , probably also along with those who once laughed at him . The man broke out after his daughter became a World champion yesterday. The name is AMANJOT KAUR.
I was watching the match in HARYANA , a state that was once infamous for patriarchy, high female foetecide, bothersome male female ratio . I could hear crackers after every single S.AFRICAN wicket, the city went haywire after the final wicket fell . It was like DEEPAWALI out here . That was so refreshing .
