Colonialism is as relevant today in Canada as it was 100 years ago. The last residential school only shut its doors in 1996. The government is still attempting to take land away from Indigenous people. This is not a problem of the past. #gndr1000s2020

While Canada Day is seemingly harmless, we must realize that our history is anything but harmless. I think there should be a reworking of Canada Day, it should be more inclusive to all Canadians and should be acknowledged that it genocide of indigenous peoples. #gndr1000s2020

I realize that as a result of my privilege I've never had to fear I won't get proper medical treatment or be seen as "undateable" or be viewed as a child and have to prove myself as "capable" to others #gndr1000s2020

The idea of being "Two-Spirited" is something that I was unaware of before watching the video. It's great to know that these indigenous groups have such a feeling of pride towards "Two-Spirited" people. We can and will learn a lot from them! #gndr1000s2020

Watching the Sissy Boy Experiment it made me realize that there are still people that lack the understanding and have a prominent fear of themselves or their child being gay. While also gendering objects that do not require a gender, such as toys and colours. #gndr1000s2020

There still a belief that there are gender defined tasks at home and in the workplace (ex. women shouldn't do the heavy lifting). This demonstrates that there is still gender defined work that is "masculine and feminine" which provides limitations for all genders. #gndr1000s2020
