๐จ Technical director Matt Jackson has flown to Portugal to meet with new boss Cesar Peixoto & plot operation Premier League return
Jorge Mendes very much a huge cog in recruitment again & pushing strongly to get deal done with Portuguese right-back Rodrigo Pinheiro
Other clubs in the hunt, but Mendes going hard to make Wolves move first & only choice

@joshuabuckley Definitely, and we have got fewer benefits from being associated with Mendes over time. He pushes what suits his interests, not those of the club. Sometimes they coincide, sometimes not
@stevebarnes72@MrRyanLeister The Mendes association has been delivering diminishing returns for a while. Peixoto looks to have a very mixed record in Portugal managing small clubs. Huge gamble and you have to question Fosun's ability to get this call right. We are burning through managers at an alarming rate
@stevebarnes72@MrRyanLeister Yes, we were dreadful towards the end of last season and the club making an assessment that Edwards isn't the right man to take us forward is ok... But... The new manager has Mendes fingerprints all over it. The manner, timing and blindsiding of senior ppl at the club is v poor
Wolves have suddenly and shockingly sacked Rob Edwards, and have turned to Cรฉsar Peixoto...but who exactly is he?
From his playing career in Portugal to his journey as a manager, this this thread breaks down his story, style, and what he could bring to Molineux.

@RazorMick@DazHaleWM Totally agree, the dysfunction and instability at the top: chopping and changing of managers and influence of Mendes are all big issues that aren't just "noise". Selecting the manager on the basis of who Mendes recommends is not a wise strategy, esp. when you look at his CV!
@DazHaleWM It glosses over some major issues IMO... What this chaos means in terms of: - the role of technical director - recruitment - influence of Mendes - disconnect between Fosun and day to day operations - instability caused by constant churn of managers. Wolves are a mess right now
@awlcraig@wwfc_emma Mendes served us well in the Nuno era but ever since his record is mixed. He's pushed players onto the club who have not been a good fit and have not wanted to come. He has no loyalty to Wolves, turning to him to pick our next manager is not the mark of a serious club.
@Gman2307 The Uncle Jorge connection has long since failed to deliver anything positive for us. This guy's CV reads like a poor man's Vitor Pereira. High stakes gamble. It's a mess.
@MarshallSuite@GlynnThomas1@Fosun_Intl If you were to objectively compare the CV of this guy with Rob Edwards it's a massive stretch to say this guy looks any better suited to managing in the championship. Fosun are clueless and think turning to Mendes to pick the manager makes sense. It doesn't.
@GlynnThomas1@Fosun_Intl Because Fosun turn to Jorge Mendes to solve their problems and he pushes whichever client fits his agenda best. Nothing in this guy's CV indicates he's a good appointment
@_Ade_ It's funny how people are so adamant that Trippier isn't in fact unhappy (despite multiple media reports to the contrary) because Liam Keen tweeted a one word answer to a question. You'd have to suspect Andre isn't best pleased either
@WWFC_Bren@TalkingWolves@LiamKeen_Star Sky sports and daily mail yalso running with this story. Liam Keen tweeting the word "no" doesn't exactly fill me with confidence that there isn't a significant issue here. The kamikaze approach to managerial appointments has consequences it seems!
@adammichaelb31 It's another Mendes led appointment over the head of the sporting director. Rather than our own top team we have a "super agent" with his own agenda pulling the strings. Worked before in the Nuno era but hasn't worked ever since. New appointment is a massive gamble
