Now online: Parallel 9's story concludes with series 3! 30 years on cast and crew tell all about a creative transfer from CITV, their attempts to revitalise the show and how the surprise success of a new character gave hope of future commissions... https://t.co/Hivgzag9T2
@northernassist morning! Is there a payment issue with the DPAYG trial app being used Leeds-Harrogate? It says payment card failed yesterday, but adding a different one doesn’t work either, so it looks like it may be an issue with the app itself
There’s also this bit of studio audio from just before 9am on launch day that survives over the VT clock, which is extremely quiet but just about reveals the sheer nerves behind what they were about to do… https://t.co/x9qwvW0iLp
A few updates to my Parallel 9 blogs with the upload of a high quality stereo version of show 1 without a timestamp across the top. All screengrabs & links are now updated. There’s also a few new clips from CBBC continuity that have popped up on YouTube. https://t.co/88ghYzBg32
@richardmarson2 Your biography is a superb tribute and I’m glad she got to see it. Celebratory as well as fair and objective. And the perfect title…even my young daughter now knows who the woman who made Blue Peter was!
Much of our email exchange didn't make the cut of an already lengthy piece but as a tribute I've compiled some of his previously unseen thoughtful writing about his childhood, television and early career. Thank you, Stephen. https://t.co/28nbPIQd3y
I was saddened recently to hear of the death of Stephen Hope-Wynne at just 63, who a few years ago enthusiastically took part in my mad project to research Parallel 9, telling me at length about his role on the programme.
Introduced as the voice of life support system The Tope a few weeks into the first series he brought a neurotic, jealous personality to what could have been a played very straight, and was the only character carried forward to the heavily revamped second run.
Also appearing on YouTube recently was the first Live and Kicking of series 2 - and we get to see a lot more of The Little Green Man than I thought we did previously. Read about P9’s swansong at the end of the series 3 blog https://t.co/gCEDF9MpZj
Parallel 9 updates! An entire episode from series 2 has appeared on YouTube - presenter Richard Norton’s favourite no less - so there’s a major update to the blog (yep, it’s even longer now). Scroll down to Show 6 for the new bit https://t.co/z5mQnHpKjX
This one features Julia Sawalha the morning after an Ab Fab recording, Patrick Moore freestyling on the xylophone to the theme tune and a future presenter in an early cameo…
Party like it's 1999 with BBC History's look back at the BBC broadcasting 28 hours of live global celebrations to bring in the new millennium with 2000 Today.

@krn It’s true that it was very much whoever was on their books at the time, but not sure BG can discount it as “unofficial”. As recently as 2014 it was one of the tracks on the CD!
