More than 100 people who were impacted by Iranian-sponsored terrorism are in Washington, D.C. this week with a message for President Trump: Do not negotiate with Iran unless restitution payments are part of the deal.

A federal court ruled the Islamic Republic must pay tens of billions of dollars in damages for its role in either orchestrating, financing or providing other material support tor major terrornced attacks around the world. Thousands of victims are owed restitution payments, but say they have not received any.

Video shows forest fires burning around a freight train in rural Canada, with the crew fearing the flames could reach them as bright orange flames surrounded the stranded train outside Armstrong, Ontario, late Tuesday. “This could potentially overtake us here, this has gotten a little scary,” one crew member told the operator as the wildfire moved closer to the locomotive. “Y’all need to hurry up here. Seriously. We’re encased in flames.”

"With his arrest, we can finally prosecute one of the biggest fish in the Feeding Our Future scheme," U.S. Attorney Daniel N. Rosen told CBS News' @JonahPKaplan after the capture of the alleged second-in-command in what's been described as the largest COVID-19 relief fraud scheme ever charged in the U.S. The massive fraud scheme, centered in Minnesota, allegedly stole more than $250 million in federal child nutrition funds meant to feed children during the pandemic.

Abdikerm Eidleh, 42, was taken into custody Thursday in Mogadishu, Somalia, in a daytime raid coordinated by both the FBI and Somali intelligence agencies. Eidleh was indicted in September 2022 as part of the Feeding Our Future fraud investigation and had fled the U.S. in 2021. Rosen said Eidleh was "second in command" to Aimee Bock, the convicted ringleader of the scheme, who was just sentenced to more than 40 years in prison.

So far, prosecutors have charged 79 people, most of Somali descent, in the Feeding Our Future case. Of those, 66 have been convicted or are pleading guilty. Eidleh has yet to enter a plea in the case.

Three firefighters were killed and two sustained burn injuries when they were overcome by flames from fast-moving wildfires in hot, windy conditions near the Colorado-Utah border.

The firefighters worked for the U.S. Wildland Fire Service and U.S. Forest Service and were part of an interagency response to the Knowles and Gore fires, which merged with other fires to form the Snyder Fire. So far, about 44 square miles have burned. https://t.co/TPx0RYhJen
