The federal government tried to enforce the same laws that were enforced under Obama. Tom Homan got an award back then but now he is called a Nazi. The only thing that changed was the narrative.

If the state of Minnesota had worked with the federal government to enforce decades old immigration laws, there wouldn’t be any violence and ICE would have been in and out of Minnesota in a week.
