I met a young skunk. They were coming down the trail, I was going up. We both stopped, then they raised up to a handstand, showing their fluffy striped tail. I smiled at the distance, and waited. They hesitated, dropped backed to all fours and bounded anxiously into the shrubs.

Friday afternoon and I’m struggling to make the lifecycle of sex and color-changing wrasses sound as cool as I think it really is! It sends my imagination into spirals… most of which involve more words than the 10 or 15 I’ll use to convey the feelings and info.

After squaring off, the smaller began grooming their front legs. The larger stayed still. Whatever it was though, it wasn’t meant to be, and they both decided to move away in opposite directions.
