@AuthorGoodwin I figure anyone can round up 10-15 reviews. So, for me, I'd say the number is 20. And I want to see over a 4.5 with only 20. With thousands of reviews, a 4.0 is good enough. But if the description and Look Inside are good, reviews don't matter to me.

Just submitted my ballots for the Nebula Awards. If you're a member of SFWA and you haven't made your nominations yet, you've got until midnight on Mar 1 to get them in.

@AuthorGFAllen Honestly? Probably not. I didn't think anyone but my family would read my first book, and I still wrote it. But I wouldn't be banging my head writing book after book if no one was reading them.
For all SFWA members, nominations for the Nebula Awards ends March 1. Please get your nominations in to the best in scifi and fantasy for 2025 can be recognized!
@AuthorAltoft A chapter is just as long as it needs to be. No longer, no shorter.
I have one chapter that is three words long, because that's all it needed to be to convey the information.
For the record, that book has done quite well, so the readers don't seem to have an issue with it.
I was quite surprised and honored to see that my Federation Marines series was listed as the top MilSF series and was the "gold standard" of the genre. #sciencefictionbooks#spacemarine2

@Pismo_B Japanese toilets are great. But you can also use a bum gun as well, which look like the sprayers you have alongside your kitchen sink. We installed those in our house.
You still need some TP, however, for the final touch for both the Japanese toilet and bum gun.
@crosbyking77@vinquezada1 I almost grabbed his hat when they came to play the AAA Iowa Oaks, but he was too quick for me, just like he was on the diamond.
SFWA Members: the Nebula Awards nomination period is soon coming to a close. Please nominate your favorite works. And don't forget, the Norton and Games categories always need a little love, too!

@DibbleTiki@SouthDallasFood I like the main meat medium rare, but the rib cap more well done and full of flavor.
At the Bellagio buffet, I used to ask for that portion (the chefs cut it out and trashed it).
For cooking at home, I do the 500 degrees for five minutes a pound, then turn the oven off method.
@Mark_Pear@SeosQuinn True. I just did the same route over New Year from the Springs to Vegas.
I've often stopped for food in Las Vegas, NM. The people there said they always have a few tourists who are disappointed with "Vegas" and want to know where the casinos are.
I reposted this earlier, but I just said it was a great book. It really is, but in addition, it is a unique and refreshing read. I love this take on alien-human interaction and how it explores the weighty role of noninterference by an observer.
Please, give it a shot.

Interesting. I write military scifi. Book 5 in my current series actually has the least amount of military action, but it's getting great reviews. This book is heavier on the characters and overall arc.
I assumed the readers would have wanted more action.
