@Canada82Save@capstrav1s The intent is pretty clear to me. He's gripping the stick with both hands and he deliberately curls it around his head. He knows he has possession as he begins to fall. It's a shot.
@brandonjo1982@JFreshHockey It's either going to get done or he'll need to widen his net. But Larkin's very good. I wouldn't be surprised if it works out.
@brandonjo1982@JFreshHockey Marner pointed to his NTC and it worked — for a season. Usually, players with an NTC don't actually want to stay with a team that doesn't want them. The NTC is just a handbrake that gives them control over their destination.
@brandonjo1982@JFreshHockey Well, to be fair to the players, the teams often don't treat NTCs as the final say. If Detroit wanted Larkin out, and he resisted, at a certain point the organization would probably start coloring outside the Iines as well — leaking to the press, at minimum. And worse.
@CatsFan3464@LostJoshPython@JFreshHockey I'm... aware. Again, I'm less interested in the team itself than the issue — and whether anything should be done about it. At least in Florida, if not in Dallas, Vegas and Nashville, I don't think it's going to be an issue in the long run.
@brandonjo1982@JFreshHockey The longer he sits, the louder the press coverage gets, the more it interferes with the season. It's definitely an indirect form of leverage. They can play hardball for a few months, but not much longer — unless he relents. But relenting is probably what got him here.
@Canada82Save@capstrav1s Do you know how many highlight goals are “lucky”? The Rick Nash one, for instance. Skillful, sure, but lucky. Still great. A lesser player wouldn’t even make the attempt.
@keith_uk@imPatrickT I'm sure A.I. will really change animated filmmaking. But the idea that people would rather see this than actual actors is delusional. People appreciate the way videogames look, but only because they're playing them. If they had to sit there and watch them, they wouldn't care.
@keith_uk@imPatrickT It's technically impressive, in a way. But it's just flat. The visuals, the movement, the performances, the dialogue. Looks too much like a video game. Everytime I see something like this, I'm convinced there's always gonna be an uncanny valley there.
@JerryTurin@RearAdBsBlog There are no dynasties in a salary cap world. And top ranking means nothing in hockey. And I couldn’t care less who’s on their roster. They’re both great teams.
