🚨BREAKING OMAHA NEWS 🚨
Tristan Bissetta just got a new hat ahead of tomorrow’s game vs Troy.
The hat is from @anchorbatco you should check them out, genuinely great stuff.
Just saw three @WVUBaseball players walking through the crowd on the way back to their hotel from the stadium in the midst of throngs of fans going to the night game at the @CWSOmaha. No one was bothering them. No police escort. No armed security. Just three ball players in dirty uniforms laughing and strolling home after winning a ballgame. That’s not something you see at other major sporting events. That’s the charm of baseball. That’s the charm of Omaha. Never change.

Troy: Reeves (C Chapin)
WV: Lumsden (OF Mann), Cole (RHP Boiling Springs)
Ole Miss: Bissetta (OF Mann), Rabe (RHP Greenville)
North Carolina: Percival (LHP Andrew Jackson), Glauber (RHP Catawba Ridge)
Eye-opening to see all the SC talent going to Omaha. Really makes you think.
Dom Decker eliminated Ole Miss in the Oxford Regional last season with Murray State before going to Omaha.
This year he advances to Omaha with Ole Miss.
@SullivanMi5070@Fatboy933 I don’t disagree with Carolina needing a coach that has lead a bigger program with success. But let’s not act like Carolina is a much better program. If he can’t lead Carolina he can’t lead Coastal. Coastal is the better program. And it’s not even close.
2 years ago, I had 2 players turn down our 13U team to play “national” baseball for more exposure.
Exposure to who? No college coach recruits 13-year-olds.
Later, one dad told me it was a huge mistake. Nearly $18K gone chasing fake exposure.
Parents are sold a dream.
I coach varsity H.S. baseball and travel ball… and I’d take H.S. baseball every single time.
The school pride.
The community.
The rivalries.
The pressure to win.
The packed playoff games.
Playing for your town.
In my eyes H.S. baseball just means more.
The best thing about the end of Clemsons baseball season is that we don’t have to listen to Don & Bob call a game the rest of the year. Painful is an understatement. Clemson needs more of @QualkTalk in all sports but especially baseball!!
The problem with travel baseball now?
Anybody can start a team.
Get 12 kids, order uniforms, enter tournaments, call yourself “elite”…
and suddenly you’re a travel organization.
That doesn’t mean the development is good, arms are handled right, or kids are actually improving.
Today’s Batting Average on balls hit on the ground or on a line: .500
Today’s batting average on fly balls: .162 (one of those left the park).
You want success as a hitter. Learn to stay on top of the ball.
If you do that, and you get stronger and stronger the power will come, I promise you.
Been coaching baseball for 35 years. I can confidently say …
The same fundamentals that won baseball games in my year #1 still wins them today. Even more so now, because others are neglecting the basics at an alarming rate. So many are mistakenly seeking a magic potion. When doing simple better than everyone else is the key. On offense, defense, team play, etc.
