In a classic guilt-by-insinuation hit job in today's @nytimes, @matthewstoller questions @KamalaHarris's integrity by pointing out that among her advisers and supporters are some smart, capable people - including her brother-in-law Tony West - who have either created or worked for large, successful companies. Stoller is especially suspicious of Harris because LinkedIn co-founder @ReidHoffman - "a key supporter" - has criticized FTC chair Lena Khan. What Stoller doesn't mention is that few people in the country were working harder than Hoffman to re-elect President Biden before he withdrew, notwithstanding the fact that Biden appointed Lina Khan to her job. Stoller also goes after Harris for bringing on @DavidPlouffe - because, he says, Plouffe has worked for some tech companies. But somehow Stoller fails to mention the actual reason Harris brought Plouffe in: he was Barack Obama's campaign manager in 2008. When you have to leave out hugely relevant facts to make your point, maybe it's because your point doesn't hold up.
