I condemn in the strongest terms Minister Mai Golan’s verbal attack on MK Gilad Kariv and on Reform Judaism in general. As an Orthodox Jew and as Israel’s representative to the United States I find her words disgusting and reprehensible, worthy of excoriation and rebuke. Theological, political, and ideological differences are fine, even necessary for a healthy people. But there is a line that cannot be crossed, it is a line that divides debate from hate and separates altruism from populism. Too many are crossing the line. Mai Golan’s statement is one of them. I will visit with leaders of the Reform movement soon, in person, to apologize on Israel’s behalf.

@SagiBarmak אנלוגיה מעניינת. נניח ובן משפחה שומר כשרות וכל האוכל זה בייקון, נכון יהיה ברור מדוע למה הוא יכין לעצמו ארוחה נפרדת, כנראה עם אוכל שהביא מהבית? כנל אם הוא צמחוני והארוחה רק בשר? סכרתי כשהארוחה כוללת רק גלידות?

לא התמודדת עם הבעיה מה לעשות כשאין הגינות וסובלנות מצד המארגנים.

I am a Democrat. I served in the Clinton administration. I did not vote for Donald Trump and am highly unlikely to support him or his acolytes in the future. I also have serious disagreements with many of the Trump administration’s domestic and foreign policies.

But it is profoundly disturbing that a growing segment of the far left appears to be almost rooting for Hamas, Hezbollah, the Iranian regime, and other forces fundamentally opposed to the United States and our allies. This seems to reflects a corrosive strain of anti-Americanism, dressed up in postcolonial theory, that risks blinding us to the moral realities of our world and the nature of our adversaries.

Kataeb Hezbollah announced its military spokesman "Abu Ali al-Askari" has been assassinated. On top of being the spokesman for the group, Abu Ali was a senior commander within this militia.
KH carried out massacres, mass kidnappings and ethnically cleansed Sunni areas across Iraq and Syria. Under the guidance of the Iranian regime and Qassem Soleimani, KH took the lead in violently repressing the peaceful 2019 anti-regime uprising in Iraq, killing about 800 protesters and activists, most of them Shia.
KH runs a network of black sites across Iraq, inside Baghdad, in Jurf a-Sakhr, along the border with Iran, where is holds and tortures the innocent. Thousands of Iraqis passed through these prisons and most of them never came out alive. I was held in them for 903 days and came out alive, after LH received a threat from Trump's envoy that the US will kill them if they don't release me.
Abu Ali al-Askari was personally involved in keeping me captive and spreading hilarious lies about me, even after my release. He was killed by the United States for KH's targeting of US interests in Iraq & neighboring countries. KH also killed hundreds of American servicemen. But most of the blood this man had on his hands was that of Arabs: Iraqis and Syrians.
