In 2023, the city welcomed 23.1 million visitors, who spent a total of $8.8 billion. Alcatraz's contribution, while a fraction of the total, plays a vital role in supporting local businesses and the city's economy. Maybe there is a better place to accommodate and expand? Or maybe, just maybe, reform the system entirely.
